Tower of London (2004)

The Tower of London was founded by William the Conqueror and almost 1,000 years of British history have played within its walls. This painting was based on a hot sunny day scene but to add a chill externally I created a scene where the snow had just settled and blustery wind conditions developed surrounding the tower. You will see that the wind conditions are only severe around the tower to add atmosphere but the tree I added at the forefront of the painting remains calmly covered with snow. Despite the history of some of the goings on within the tower, I added a touch of warmth with internal lanterns. The river has frozen to reveal a dull reflection of the tower’s internal lighting. Please enjoy one of London’s most visited attractions
