This painting of the Venice canal in Italy was based on a day scene, in the early hours of the morning. The sky was overcast and the City was still asleep. I wanted to liven up the area for my painting. I therefore changed the scene to one of dusk and added depth to the painting by adding clouds. To add to the atmosphere, I also added internal lighting and hanging flowers to the buildings and colour and life to the canal, which originally appeared grey. Please enjoy my vision of the romantic City of Venice.
